Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre offers a unique insight into the life cycle of wild salmon, from the ocean to the spawning grounds. Through interactive exhibitions and visual installations, you’ll learn about the challenges salmon face on their journey. The main attraction is the fish ladder, built inside the mountain, where—if you're lucky—you can watch the salmon swimming upstream.
In addition to the exhibitions, you can explore the stunning natural surroundings. Follow the walking trails, visit the scenic viewpoints, or step out onto "the plank" for a breathtaking view. According to local folklore, a troll once placed a massive boulder in the waterfall to gain better access to the salmon.
This experience is suitable for both children and adults and can be enjoyed at your own pace. The center features a café, a souvenir shop, and offers fishing permits for those wanting to try their luck. It is fully accessible, with an elevator, wheelchair-friendly facilities, and adapted pathways, ensuring that everyone can take part in this nature-based experience.
