Fjord floating gives you a close-up experience of the Hardangerfjord from water level. The activity takes place in the sheltered bay just outside Thon Hotel Sandven in Norheimsund, with views of the village waterfront, the fjord and the surrounding mountains.
Your local guide welcomes you in the hotel lobby, helps you into an insulated immersion suit and explains how to enter the water safely. The suit provides insulation and buoyancy, so no swimming skills or cold-water bathing are required. The guide remains nearby while you float for around 30-45 minutes. The exact time depends on the conditions and how long you feel comfortable.
After coming ashore you get served hot drinks and light snacks. Digital photos are sent after the activity. The complete experience lasts 75 minutes and suits guests looking for a calm, guided way to experience the fjord in autumn, winter or spring.
