Set off on a 2-hour kayaking trip through Trondheim that starts at Tempe idrettsanlegg and flows gently down to Skansen. This self-guided activity offers a different perspective of the city as you navigate the calm waters of the Nidelven river.
After a short introduction to paddling techniques and safety guidelines, you’ll head out in stable double kayaks. No instructor is needed—just follow the river and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Along the way, you’ll pass forested riverbanks, urban architecture, and glimpses of local life not visible from the streets.
This trip is suitable for participants aged 3 and up. You’ll need to carry your kayak a short distance at the start and finish. Return transport is not provided, but walking, bus, or bike-sharing options are available back to the starting point.

Good to know
Participants must carry their own kayak 50 meters to the water. Please arrive 10 minutes before the trip begins. In winter (December–May 1st), a dry suit rental is mandatory. Dress appropriately for the season and bring water, sun protection, or extra clothing depending on weather.
There is no return transport provided to the starting point. Return by walking (approx. 40 min), city bike, or local bus. If arriving by car, consider parking near the endpoint at Skansen and taking public transport to the start.
