Meet your guide in town and walk together to the start of Gammelveien. Follow the trail past historic remains from World War II and the Napoleonic War while learning about the events connected to the area. As you climb, take in wide views over Hammerfest, the harbor, and the islands beyond.
The route continues through Hammerfest’s only forest before reaching a viewpoint overlooking the town. Here, see a traditional Sami building and learn about Sami culture and its importance in Norway. The hike ends back in town after descending the well-known Zick-Zack Veien.
