Experience the serenity and power of the open ocean from the water’s surface.
Nowhere else do you get closer to birdlife, wildlife, nature, and the magic of the sea than by kayak at the very edge of the ocean. Join a journey that offers dramatic views, immersive nature experiences, and a step back in time to when the sea people first set foot on Træna nearly 10,000 years ago. We follow the story through battles with the Spanish Armada, land uplift, legends of troll mountains in the north, and arrive at the present day—Træna as a beautiful and resilient island community on the “outermost barren isle.”
Træna is, with virtually no competition from destinations in Norway or abroad, the world’s most beautiful paddling paradise. Steep island mountains, sandy beaches, the vast open ocean, sheltered coves, and vibrant bird and wildlife make Træna a truly spectacular kayaking experience. The immense power of ocean swells far offshore adds to the drama, yet all our tours are conducted with experienced guides, in safe conditions, and with equipment adapted to the environment. Over time, you’ll feel how the gentle movement of the swells brings calm to both body and soul, becoming one with nature. You might even feel tempted to take a swim.
No previous paddling experience is required. We spend some time on land fitting kayaks and reviewing communication routines, but most of the experience takes place on the water.
