Reppavatnet is a moderately challenging and scenic hike in Leka municipality, along the Helgeland coast. The trail follows the historical postal route between Rossvika and Årsetfjorden and offers great variation in landscape – from lush forests and stream valleys to open mountain terrain and tranquil mountain lakes.

The hike starts in Rossvika and follows the old path from the river mouth, over a bridge and then gently up through the stream valley for the first kilometer. Gradually, the ascent becomes steeper through the lush forest terrain of Rossvikmarka, before the trail levels out at Manna (about 250 m above sea level). The final stretch leads up into open mountain landscape around 350 m above sea level, where the view opens up and the landscape changes character.

From the highest point, the trail gently descends towards Reppavatnet (about 279 m above sea level). Here lies an idyllic peninsula with a nice resting place – a natural destination for the hike. The area invites for a break, silence, and nature experiences, and the lake is home to trout for those who wish to try their luck at fishing.

For those who want to extend the hike, the mountain area around Reppavatnet offers several options. From the heights northward along Rossvikfjellet and Stordalstjønnene, one can continue to Olaslåtten. From here, there are marked routes both towards Tyskenghatten (538 m above sea level) and down towards Sør-Gutvikvatnet, making the area attractive also for more experienced hikers.

Note: The hike returns the same way it was approached. Some sections can be steep and challenging, especially in wet conditions, and good hiking shoes are recommended.

Access: Parking at the resting place in Lissvika. Follow the road further towards Rossvika and start the hike from the river mouth.
