Every Saturday during the high season, you can join a mini cruise from Elgå to Buvika. The route heads out towards Sollerøya, makes a stop at Buvika, and then returns to Elgå. The trip takes approximately 2 hours.
Like its predecessor, Fæmund I, Fæmund II was originally a working vessel, used for transporting goods, people, livestock, and—most importantly—towing timber. Today, the passengers mainly consist of tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. However, it was timber transport that made it possible to establish scheduled services along the entire length of Femunden. For 127 years, this long and narrow lake has been served by regular summer routes.
Let the lake and the surrounding nature calm both body and soul. On this round trip, or “mini cruise,” there is no rush. Lower your shoulders, slow down, and simply enjoy life on board.
No mini cruise is complete without delicious local food. On board Fæmund II, you can purchase flavorful small dishes inspired by local traditions. The region’s climate causes ingredients to grow slowly, resulting in rich and truly unique flavors—tastes that have made the Røros region one of Norway’s leading destinations for local cuisine. Several local specialties are available on board.
